Rather soft. Taste: Smoky, maritime, on seaweeds, lime and lemon juicy, peat smoke, some iodine, camphor, sea brine and some old tobacco. The finish is medium to long, mellow, rather light and soft, with a rather delicate maritime peat smoke, citrus, some seaweeds, iodine and seashells. Impression: A nice elegant, light, and mellow Ardbeg, in the style of the new Ardbeg 17 YO. It is well-made, but rather soft. The aged expressions from Ardbeg seem to have the peat levels dropping markedly faster than the Ardbeg from the 1970s. Rating: 15/20 FP:B3 |
